Lab Introduction:

Cell membrane is one of the most active components of a cell. A constant reorganization of cell membrane and membrane surface components (e.g. proteins, lipids) are required to maintain vital biological phenomena, such as wound repair, cell growth, cell differentiation, cell mobility as well as cell-cell interactions. Our lab is established in April 2014, and our main interest is to understand how membrane surface dynamics (e.g bi-directional protein trafficking across cell membrane) affect (1) fertilization processes (2) disease progression. More importantly, how these processes are regulated in vivo.
We apply various approaches including (1) cell culture, (2) biochemistry, (3) proteomic, (3) the use of transgenic animals, (4) ex vivo culture system (5) advanced imaging system in order to visualize the dynamics of membrane activities.
